Another New Jersey college has added cannabis studies to its cirriculum

New Jersey colleges have jumped on the bandwagon when it comes to implementing cannabis studies into their curriculum.

The legal marijuana market in New Jersey continues to grow more and more every day and now more universities in Jersey are creating more majors and minors in cannabis studies every day.

The most recent college to add a cannabis program to its list of studies is Hudson County Community College.

We have seen schools like our own Rider University in Mercer County, NJ add this to their school, and also Stockton University.

Seeing now that community colleges are incorporating this into their curriculum, I think it’s only a matter of time before every college in New Jersey offers a cannabis curriculum.

The cannabis industry has been booming in the United States and more particularly in New Jersey since its legalization for recreational use on November 3, 2020.

Now that it’s officially legalized and purchasable for recreational use, it’s a growing business that students are excited to jump into and learn more about. spoke with Ara Karakashian, Associate Dean of Business, Culinary and Hospitality Programs at Hudson County Community College, and said, “We want to make sure people here have that chance locally here by being educated about the way to do it here, because it all starts here — locally”.

They also reported that Karakashian developed the college’s cannabis curriculum. It’s important for colleges to offer these programs in the state so that students can be educated about the cannabis industry and learn how to get their foot in the door.

It is also important that more and more universities in Jersey implement cannabis studies in their curricula. So no matter where in the state you go to study, you will be able to access the education needed to get started in the industry.
