Four men…..four stories….four seasons…..forty years….fifteen of the top ten songs….five No. 1 chart-toppers….42 songs in the top 100….175 million records sold….and one dramatic story that would be amazing if it weren’t true.
JERSEY BOYS is the true story of how a blue-collar band from the wrong side of the New Jersey runways became Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons – one of the most successful bands in pop music history. They’ve written their own songs, sold 175 million records worldwide and been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for countless global hits including Big Girls Don’t Cry, Sherry, Walk Like A Man, Oh What A Night, Bye Goodbye baby, rag doll, I’m coming back to you, my eyes adored you, who loves you and can’t take his eyes off you.
Appearing as the Four Seasons are LR: Jonathon Shilling (Bob Gaudio), Robbie Wilton (Tommy DeVito), Will Hanley (Frankie Valli) and Tom Morley (Nick Massi). The four performers are no strangers to a CLOC scene, having starred in thirteen CLOC productions between them. For Tom Morley (a day doctor working at COVID Land), this is his second consecutive CLOC show after last year’s spectacular Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.
On the other hand, it has been eleven years since Will Hanley stepped on a CLOC stage, despite being a prolific, award-winning performer with various companies around Melbourne. Jonathon Shilling and Robbie Wilton reunited after their last appearance together on CLOC’s Kinky Boots in 2019, and for Robbie, this show marks his eighth CLOC stage appearance.
After a long wait in a quiet, dark theatre, it’s time to turn on the lights, turn up the volume, break out those flowing dance moves and celebrate as CLOC finally takes to the stage at the National Theater St Kilda, May 13-28. Evenings 8 p.m., Matinees 2 p.m.
All performances will be subject to CLOC’s flexible ticketing policy as well as COVID-Safe protocols in conjunction with the National Theater St Kilda.
