Get your money! An Overview of New Jersey’s Anchor Rebate Program

You don’t need me to tell you things are tough these days, but I will. We’ve been through a lot with the pandemic and now our economic struggles. Inflation and our economy are worrying millions, and not just across the country, but right here in New Jersey.

There is pressure on the middle class in America and right here in New Jersey. So every little relief is welcome and now New Jersey is giving back a little and you have to remember to take advantage of it.

This is the Anchor program and you should be getting the information in the mail in the coming weeks, I just got my paperwork this week. What is the “anchor program”? It’s the state’s “New Jersey Affordable Communities for Homeowners and Renters” program. A recent Patch article described the refund, but I wanted to share my experience with you and how easy it was to request your refund. Sasun Bughdaryan Sasun Bughdaryan

According to Patch’s article, “Homeowners with a household income of less than $150,000 can get a rebate of $1,500. Homeowners with household income between $150,000 and $250,000 can receive $1,000. Tenants with incomes below $150,000 will receive $450 each. With approximately 2 million people affected, recipients of the ANCHOR rebate will receive an average of $971 for this year.”

I got my mail this week and immediately decided to sit in line and fill in my information and send it. It was easy to go online and follow the instructions to send my information to Trenton. Two things, be sure to write down your confirmation number once you are done and print or take a photo of your completed form. This way you have a record of your entry. It took less than 10 minutes and I was done and now waiting to see when a discount will arrive. You have the choice between a check or a direct deposit.

So keep an eye out for the mail for your Anchor Program form and get your refund if you qualify, it will definitely come in handy during these trying times. MOHD AZRIN MOHD AZRIN
