MANILA, Philippines — Kai Sotto is making a name for himself outside the Australian NBL courts as his Adelaide sons crack the top 10 in jersey sales for the 2021-22 season.
The 36ers’ 7-foot-3 center is No. 4 in the NBL’s latest jersey sales behind Chinese star Zhou Qi, Matthew Dellavedova and Josh Adams.
Sotto is also the only Adelaide player to make the top 10 shirt selling list.
The 7-foot-1 Zhou, who plays for southeast Melbourne Phoenix, boasts a strong Chinese following and is posting 10.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and a league-second best at 2.33 blocks behind Melbourne United’s Jo Lual-Acuil who averages 2.7 blocks. a game.
Dellavedova, who helped the Cleveland Cavaliers win the 2016 NBA title, is second in jersey sales and has 10 points, 3.1 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 1.1 steals for league-leading United .
Adams, meanwhile, has the third best-selling jersey in the league and has game averages of 16.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.2 steals.
Sotto, the first Filipino to play in the NBL, has 7.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in seven games.
An authentic Sotto shirt on NBL’s online store costs AUD 99.95 or P3,700 while a youth size top is priced at AUD 79.5 or P2,960.
