New Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Supplier Diversity Development Council

The Supplier Diversity Development Council (SDDC), Trenton, recently welcomed President Michael Jones-Bey and Vice President Megan Carton-Poole, as new leaders to the organization’s Board of Directors. The organization is dedicated to forging effective working relationships between Minority-Owned Businesses, Women, Veterans, and Disabled Veterans (M/W/SDVBE) and the New Jersey Utilities and Public Utilities Board ( NJBPU) on issues relating to methods of reporting, measuring and evaluating the development of these relationships.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as President of this organization. In 2022, our mission is to build on our past successes and expand the impact we have as an organization,” Jones-Bey said. “I am fortunate to serve on a Board of Directors that includes an engaged group of representatives from our public services as well as representatives from minority, women and veteran-owned businesses, government agencies and advocacy groups. I am confident that we will be able to support the Governor’s priorities related to clean energy and promote contracting opportunities for various businesses and job growth in our region. Our goals are aligned and we have a great plan to get results.

Michael Jones-BeyJones-Bey is currently Director of Corporate Social Responsibility for Con Edison and Orange and Rockland Utilities, and he manages their supplier diversity and sustainability program. He is responsible for leading the company’s efforts to embed sustainable supply chain business practices while increasing contracting opportunities for Minority and Women-Owned Businesses (MWBEs) in a way that strategically supports the company’s commitment to environmental stewardship and to promoting economic growth within the communities it serves. .
